I finished up the canopy and hung it this weekend. It's only got 2 of the 6 AI sols on it in the picture. I also finished up the supplemental T5 lighting with the help of a friend, and by help I mean he made the fixture while I watched. I also got all of the rock for the tank this weekend also. 250lbs of Marco dry rock and 150lbs of Fiji live rock which I picked up from a tank breakdown. Unfortunately it's covered with asterinas and aptasia so it's getting cited as we speak.

Thanks man, I'm trying to have a nice system without completely breaking the bank. I'm sure there's going to be a plenty things that I wish had done once the tank is up and running so don't feel bad haha

I finally aquascaped the tank and put sand in. The sump is 90% done. We still have install the sock holder, put the 4th side on and then euro brace the top. I'm hoping to finish all of that by the end of this weekend. I have my bio pellet reactor and gfo reactor in the mail and hopefully they'll be here by Friday. Also here's a few corals that I picked up at MAMAX in October.

I forgot to post a picture of the almost complete sump and the box I built for wire management and to mount my apex on.

Did you cut all the acrylic for the sump, or was it precut? I want to build something similar, but I don't think I have the right tools to get the acrylic right.

We bought 4x8 sheets of acrylic and cut them to size. The man with the know how behind the sump is mrbee2828, I'm just his helping hand. I believe there's a good tutorial on melevsreef.com on work in with acrylic

Love the tank so far...can't wait to see it stock.

Checkout this thread about the same tank...

Thanks, I'm stoked to get this tank wet already.

I saw that thread yesterday. That's my worst nightmare right there. There's always the chance that a tank is going to fail though. The only thing you can do is set it up correctly when you're building the system and prepare for a tank failure if/when it happens. I'm currently in the market for a 250 Rubbermaid tub just in case this disaster happens to me.
