I would have to go with this one.

Came out of Australia, looks similar to leptastrea, but verified it is not.

Compared a piece of skeleton to leptastrea in corals of the world book, not at all the same.

to say it grows slow is an understatement. 1/2" in 3 years...brutal...

Those are dendronepthia. Very cool corals but they don't do well in captivity due to a need for a constant food source which would pollute most of our tanks......

I agree those are both dendronetpthia's. My thrived in my tank to the point of spreading on to everything including the rock, back wall of the nano and in the overflow boxes. I promptly returned my broodstock to where I got it and tore apart the tank to kill it and bleached the rocks. This crap LOVED my tank!

I've seen ths piece in person and it rocks!

BTW Jr., it's a species of Lithophyllon, likely Lithophyllon undulatum. I have never seen one with colors as nice as yours has though!

My Acropora Desalwii, it is one of my favorites, and I have never seen another with the same color. The picture does this coral no justice. Grows in a perfect table shape, and it just beautiful. Definitely not one of the more well known pieces, actually I have not seen another like it anywhere.

Well, I know there are plenty of people out there with super colored LPS, but this is the rarest one I have ever owned. I dont know if it is so much rare, as it is hard to find...they are out there...

Here is a pic of the same coral when it was at the Mountain West Reef Fest. This is what I fell in love with. In my tank it looks as above right now, but is probalby adjusting to the new lighting.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
