I use a DIY 5 gallon bucket chiller when necessary, but a fan rippling the water will cool a lot better than just a fan blowing on it..Try to get your water to ripple. It will also raise your O2 some

i never used a chiller, only a fan when i had metal halides, if my tank temp starts overheating 83+ I used frozen water bottles to get it down to a safe level, but only 1 or 2 according to what size tank you have. now i have all my sumps/pumps in a cool basement so temp is not a problem anymore. plus my low heat radions work great

I have my fan pointing directly into my sump on a timer. Keeps my tank nice and stable

I use a Chiller in FL. AC stays on 78º year round 75º at night. Chiller comes on three times a day maybe. AC broke mid summer last year it was out for 4 days. House was at 95º so I prefer a chiller for the insurance part of it. I run inexpensive LED's.

Keep central air at 65 only way I can sleep at night. Run through a lot off top off though.

In the sump where your heater is located :) and if you use an apex you can have it timed to turn on when your tank hits a certain temp and heater will turn off as well.

Well, I don't have a basement anymore, so I use fans. I have 2 in the stand, and one on the tank. I've also set my controller to kill the halide at 81. Eventually the air will come on, and it won't be an issue. Top floor apartment, darn place gets hot quick.
