Welcome to the Reef2Reef POTM Contest - Photo of the Month

Sponsored by
Avast Marine!

This month's subject - Tank Side view

Deadline to Enter: 15 Feb 2024 at 11:59 pm (EST)

Looking forward to great shots of your tanks seen from the side! Remember, the photo has to have been taken by you, and the subject has to be in your aquarium.
No watermarks or captions are allowed in the pictures and pictures with watermarks will be disqualified.
A bit of info around your tank, how long it has been running, filtration, Flow, lighiting.... would make the submissions more intersting!

This is a photo contest after all and we're looking for the best photograph. Yes, you can use a post-editing product to better your pictures. In fact, we encourage it.
Few tips:
Clean your glass a day before so the stirred detritus and alga has time to settle or be filtered out before you take the shots, This makes for cleaner glass in the shot, as well as less particles floating in the shot.
use a smaller aperture to enhance DOF and get more of your tank in focus, bit tricky for longer tanks. Added lighting strength and higer ISO if your camera allows will help.
time your shot when many of your fish are out to add dynamics ot the shot or maybe take the shot while fish are hiding to see more of the tank, your call, experiment and post what you think works best.

As always refer to the multiple photography articles or post any questions you might have on the photography forum for better support. Maybe also post a few pictures for suggestions and critique to improve your shots wile preparing for this months contest as well.
