Welcome to the Reef2Reef POTM Contest - Photo of the Month

Sponsored by
Avast Marine!

This month's subject - Zoanthids

Deadline to Enter: 15 Mar, 2024 at 11:59 pm (EST)

Looking forward to great shots of your Zoas ! Remember, the photo has to have been taken by you, and the subject has to be in your aquarium.
No watermarks or captions are allowed in the pictures and pictures with watermarks will be disqualified.
A bit of info around your shot, Zoa ID how long you had it how fast it has grown so far, what light its under and how you took the picture... wil help generate discussion over your submission.

Zoas and Palys will both be allowed.

This is a photo contest after all and we're looking for the best photograph. Yes, you can use a post-editing product to better your pictures. In fact, we encourage it.
Few tips:
chose between top down or front shots of your zoas.
experminet with different compositions or different topics.
colonies vs few polyps vs single polyps, or maybe an extreme macro... experiment with different shots to get the one you like most.
as zoas move a lot with flow maybe decrease flow or shoot with very fast shutter speeds to freeze the motion, flash might end up washing up colors so experiment with its use...

As always refer to the multiple photography articles or post any questions you might have on the photography forum for better support. Maybe also post a few pictures for suggestions and critique to improve your shots wile preparing for this months contest as well.

Now I want to see what the previous one was!
It was this haha. While I don't want to get off track here it just wasn't doing it for me. Most of my pictures I take never make it to the internet. I just keep them to myself. I've thought about making my own thread for my pictures I take.

I'm sorry but I forget the exact name of these. Had them in my tank for 2 years now. Started with a cluster of 6 or 7, now to many to count. Under 6 orphek light bars.

My newest addition to the tank:

Stratosphere Zoas from Sunset Reefing

Photo Taken with my Motorola Edge, no filters, white balance to 7500K
125 Gallon tank
PO4 0.14
NO3 24.6
Nice!

Zoas are not my favorite corals, but I find them irresistible.
