Sad news over here, this morning I just woke up and my clownfish is dead. I saw him yesterday and he was fine. I have know idea what happened, and my only guess would be that the damsel killed him. I am going to do a ammonia test, just to be sure, but I doubt it was that.

Also if anyone has any ideas on why he died that would be very welcome.

That is a bummer :downcast-face-with-sweat:

Had the Damsel showed aggression prior? I'm not an expert but I've stayed away from them due to the potential.. ugh!
That’s the deal, is I have seen barely anything between them. He rarely, and if he does, get a bit aggressive just before feeding. And the clown always got some food. Maybe he just snapped. It is springeri damsel, and I got it because it is supposed to be less aggressive.

Sorry I’ve been gone for awhile, school stuff, but I will be back on Saturday with updates and stuff, as well as checking up with everyone’s build threads as well. But a quick update, I have the QT filled up, no fish yet though.

Haha yeah sorry about that, spent a lot more time in the store than i should of, so the lights were off, then i went skiing yesterday, but i will post pictures soon!

Unfortunately the didnt have very many fish there, and I still need to decide if i should remove the springeri damsel and get only peaceful fish, semi aggressive tank just seems like a lot more stress, and I suck at catching fish, so if one is too mean I guess I would have to get a trap.

That is the only explanation that i have for the death of the clownfish. i didnt notice anything but flashing from it, but maybe it just snapped or something.
It could be. My clowns seem more aggressive than my Springeris but every fish can be different.

I have a question for everyone on here, so should i get rid of the springer?

pros:

very hardy

would have a better selection of fish with semi aggressive reef

cons:

might be aggressive

would have to get a semi aggressive reef.

Now i would just get rid of him and a peaceful reef. I am very split on if i should get rid of him, just such a hardy guy.
