For Hammers, it seems like it’s as easy as taking a razor blade to the bottom and removing it from the plug. Is it the same for the rest of LPS like Blastos and Acans? I don’t want to hurt any of the meat on the coral.

I would say for blastos, acans, or anything encrusting its much harder and sometimes impossible to do without damaging the coral. Most of the time I just snip off the plug part of the frag plug and just leave the base of it attached to the coral for it to grow over.

Thanks and makes sense. Out of curiosity, can I mount a Blasto against a vertical rock wall?

Yes, but they typically like less light. Also, Blastos tend to form half-spheres as they grow, similar to Alveopora and Gonis.
