They are really neat to watch. They eat nutramar ova, mysis, brine shrimp and in my opinion most importatnly Sustainable Aquatics Hatcher Diet pellets (tiny pellets). They get the frozen food in the morning and then the pellets a few times throughout the day. I was so excited when they started to eat the pellets.

Nice healthy looking Filefish! I had one, way back when I was a noob and the LFS told me that they were easy to care for in a FO system....

So, my tank is pretty much turning into a sausage party. Back in August I added one male and two female square spot anthias. I noticed the large female soon grew larger then the male. The male's colors then started to fade as well as his square spot. Over the past week the large female has turned male. I think her male colors are still developing but it is now obvious.

For all those keeping score at home (not sure why you are) I have now had a leopard wrasse, flame wrasse and square spot anthias transition from female to male.

I finally took some top-down shots of my corals. First time I have done this since I setup the new tank. It is a bit more difficult to do with this tank.

I took the pictures from above the water, no top down photo box, with all the pumps off. Still difficult to get pictures of some corals without distortions.

Niceeeeeeee pics. Thanks for posting these. Are these sol blue or sol super blue?

Thanks! They are the AI Sol Blues (1 White, 1 Blue, 1 Royal Blue led per puck). I am not sure, but I think the sol blue and sol super blue are the same thing?

Thanks! Its funny how one's taste in corals evolves over time. I thought I would be an all sps guy, but some of the odd ball lps have appealed to my just as much.

So this weekend was a big weekend for my reef tank.

Friday an order from Diver's Den arrived. In that order was an Achilles tang. I chose Diver's Den once again to acquire a difficult-to-care for fish based on the fact that the other very difficult fish I have gotten, a pair of orange spot filefish and Hawaiian potters leopard wrasse, all came from Diver's Den and have done great in my tank.

The first day in the tank the Achilles got roughed up pretty good from my yellow-eye Kole tang. But the hostilities have subsided for the most part.

So far the Achilles has only really chowed down on red seaweed and picked at the socks a bit. I will be offering a wide variety of food over the next several days.

After about 30 pictures these were the best I could manage.
