Adding a sand bed to my tank is my number one regret. They are such a pain in the rear. I have been slowly siphoning sand out.

So True.

They just leach stuff out and take forever to clean.

My Old Tanks all have Algae Issues (All had Sand).

The Last 3 Tanks I set up are Barebottom and Algae Free.

I will never use Sand again.

Sand is the Devil!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard that the reflections from a bare bottom tank can stress fish out. Not sure how much truth there is to this, but it seems somewhat plausible.

I painted pictures of Supermodels on the bottom of my tank to prevent the fish from getting stressed out and the fish don't seem to mind.
