I would love to. But they are so hard to find. Haven’t seen any become available. But I have a lonely male if anyone wants to part with a female.
Fingers crossed you find one eventually - They’re beautiful fish and I’d love one if I didn’t have a medium sized tank (4’x2’x18”)

Stripey is getting on my nerves - If he goes at one more SPS then I won’t be happy haha.
Only reason I forgive him is that beautiful golden line on his back.

These guys are in my current tank. My wrasse is really pretty in person. I got her from a lfs (special order) and she was maybe an inch long. Grown so much. The yellows are buddies so far so good after 2 years together.

That earmuff actually looks to be a male.

I do not think it transitioned yet. In person, she is a bit paler and has the spot on the fins still. I have had her almost two years, so maybe getting there or working on it. I will have to get used to saying him soon.

Within 2 months of each other. Yellow tangs first.
Wait were the tangs added together yes at exactly the same time. The wrasse was 2 months later. Sorry. Not sure which you wanted to know.

How do you tell with an earmuff?
Female/Juveniles will be a VERY pale pink, usually looking white. When they begin the transition they go a nice pink shade and it’s much more obvious. Here’s a transitional male, almost completely transitioned.

Here’s a better photo of a mature male. I think yours is transitional however I could be wrong. Got any better photos with the dorsal fin and anal fin showing?

Unfortunately I cannot get good shots of her/him. I will look today. Wow, no spots on dorsal fin. I swear she had them a few days ago. So weird.
She is a bit more yellow right now, but definitely transitioning. I will try to get more shots of her full turned soon.

We derailed this a bit, but still lots of cool pics!

A new friend arrived today and is looking good in QT. I am kind of pleasantly suppressed how deep its color is and how big it is.

I think it’s weird how they are marked almost like a sailfin but yellow .
Beautiful fish though !

Now I know why they’re labelled as Yellow Sailfin Tangs over here, I still prefer the full sized sailfins and the rostratum though.

The fully extended fins was really the main reason why I chose this photo even though the angle is not the best.
