Like the sump, it is not clear just before the appointment of a small bay of the return pump. Why do we need this compartment?

That's a bubble trap aleks. The orange baffle just before that is his adjustable skimmer baffle.

Yes Aleks just like Bobby said, it's a "bubble trap". It's design to reduce micro bubbles from going into the return pump. The compartment before that one is design to temperature acclimate corals and if desired you can run carbon or GFO in a media bag right there too.

I'm soo jealous of your tank right now!

The old H2O!! Lol!! Don't be. It will still have to cycle after the aquascape but I have a couple ideas on speeding that process up a little.

Andy, LOOKING GOOD. I hope the fish wipe there fins when they enter into this reef.. very clean
