Yes, they can coexsist, in a larger tank with more territory for each to cover. 55g is a bit on the small side, for either of those Tangs.
Tangs pick territories in tanks. Yellow Tangs are a mean bunch also, when it comes to that. But, thats just the trouble I've had keeping one in a 240g tank. I won't keep another.I mostly agree, although if few fish in the tank and they're well fed it may be ok for a short while

If done correctly, the Bristletooth would have to be intorduced first, then left in the tank for 6 months, then the Yellow added, but he'd still be terrible in the long run.Five tangs in my 265 and the yellow is the most aggressive towards other fish - even more so than the Achilles or purple. Should be ok with a bristletooth if care is taken introducing them.
