Current dosing regimen:

•Brightwell Aquatics CheatoGro (fertilizer)
•NeoNitro (nitrates)
•NeoPhos (phosphates)
•Ferrion (ferrous iron)
•ATI Essentials Pro Part 1 (alk)

Hi

This looks amazing. Sorry if you have this somewhere else I was not able to find out. What are your tank parameters? I would love to duplicate this. Also how long after you cycled the tank did you put the macro algae in it?

Congrats on reef of the day! Very well deserved. :)
Thank you! And thanks for following along!

I try to keep my nitrates at 5 and phosphates around 0.05 (but I know others keep them much higher). I'm good with the growth I'm seeing though at these levels. Also, OK to add macroalgae right after the cycle assuming there's enough nutrients for them.

Wonderful tank(s)! I'm hooked already, cant wait to see them all fleshed out.
Good luck and God bless!
Thank you! It's been a fun project.

Love your Tank. Simple yet elegant.
I am sure my Tangs would love to come over and visit :)
LOL. Is it weird that part of me would love to see a Tang go crazy in here? :p

Love the snaking river scape! The thicker sand in the middle looks great. You're definitely brining a FW planted philosophy to marine scapes, really interesting. Stoked to see it come together!
Thanks! Definitely FW-inspired. Been having a blast trying to blend the two worlds.

Beautiful! Really love the setup.
Glad you like it!

This is a love story. About a [tigah]boy who fell in love with macroalgae...

So I became totally enamored with macroalgae when I added them to a couple of my prior reef tanks (you can find them here in this thread), and I've always been drawn to the freshwater planted tank/scape aesthetic, so decided to take a stab (usually with curved stainless steel scissors) at a saltwater planted tank with macroalgae as the star. Here's the breakdown.

DSC01277-2.jpg

Set-up

Tank: UNS 45A (9 gallons)
Light: Twinstar Light II 450E (full spectrum planted tank lights)
Pump: Sicce Syncra 0.5
Media: InTank Filter Floss Holder (was made for a WB7), InTank Filter Floss, and MarinePure Bio Cubes
Heater: Cobalt Neo-Therm 75w Heater
Substrate: Caribsea Fiji Pink Sand
LR: KPAquatics Premium Live Rock

Inhabitants

Macroalgae: Gracilaria hayi (red macroalgae), Caulerpa prolifera (red macroalgae), and Hypnea pannosa (blue macroalge)
Coral: Pterogorgia citrina (Yellow Sea Whip Gorg) and Pterogorgia anceps (Purple Ribbon Gorg)
Fish: Coryphopterus personatus (Masked Gobies)
Inverts: Various hermits and snails

Some more recent shots:

I'm planning a couple more macroalgae tanks (I'm hooked!), so will post them in this thread as well. Stay tuned and thanks for stopping by!

Ahhh hah yet anotha one I found on here lol. Me (Reefkid88 on NR) and my wife love your tank bud.
