Hi! Im a new-ish reefer (I’ve had other tanks in the past,) I have a 20 gallon all in one tank. I’m planning on filling it with two Darwin clowns, and a clown goby. I eventually want to get coral, here are the ones I would like,
-Sympodium
-Zoas
-Recordiya
-Duncan
-Mushroom
-Maybe some Frog Spawn or a Hammer
Of course I can’t add all of these, but which would you recommend?

be careful where you put the sympodium. they're like GSP/Clove Polyps/xenia. In which they spread quickly and smother everything else. the rest are very doable in a 20G.

Duncans are a solid bet. I've had them starting off in my nano and going all the way to my 2 80g+ setups. They're pretty hardy and colloquially known as the "coal mine canaries" of the reefing world. After going through so many (and currently still growing) hammers/frogspawns/euphyllias, I would add these later on after the tank matured a little more and you have a regular water change schedule or dosing schedule. Zoas are good; these and mushrooms spread pretty quickly on the rocks they're glued to.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
