True Aiptasia is larger and has more “bulbous” tentacles:

From what I can see, true Aiptasia are more of a Mediterranean/Eastern-Atlantic species.

Anyway this is what I'm picking up today @encrustingacro

Any species ID?

(Yes, it's old recession, yes, its obviously a galaxea, though any idea which species of galaxea?)
Measure how large the corallites are; if they are ~1 cm, that's fascicularis; if they're <0.5 cm, they're astreata. From what I can tell, looks like too few septa and too circular corallites to be fascicularis.

Anyway took it home (the cotallites are smaller than 1 cm) and did a dip. There wasn't much connective tissue between the corallites ( i thought the bit that was left was a flatworm lol, didn't touch it though) but I did get this whole rock for only $35 so it's not perfect, though the polyp extension looks good so I'll see if it can regrow, (my leptastrea actually lost most of the tissue between the corallites and was able to grow it back just fine) so I'll keep you updated!

i cant think

Personally, I like the “fascicularis morph” better. Not sure what species is commonly exported, but I have a feeling it’s astreata.

Finally got some PE on this coral, also starting to color up! Still waiting for it to connect its corallites though, but looking good so far!
