good nightI'll take pics of my arm later. It's pretty bad! But it works. It allows me to keep the sensor upward with out having to hand hold it.
I am off to sleep. Have a good night!

Hello Fellow Reefers
I felt it was time to update and share how the tank is progressing.
Note that all corals went in as frags beginning in January of this year.
Tank was filled with water 11 months ago.
I’d like to think it is doing fairly well
Would love to see more growth and polyp extension.
Had some issues with high nitrates for a bit but got it down with macro algae and large water changes. So much so that the nitrates actually bottomed out.
Phosphates are at 0.05 ppm so that seems okay.
As always, thanks to Reef2Reef for the wealth of knowledge and info.

Thanks! Haven’t had to do anything on this tank yet.looks good.
how do you keep the bottom from not having coraline algae everywhere
Hey Woodyman!Looking good! Getting some nice growth and encrusting going on!
Hey Woodyman!
Always great to hear from you.
Yes, it seems to be taking off. Keeping my fingers crossed!
You want some? LOLSoon you'll be trimming things back!
That zoa rock especially! It's almost filled in.
Yep T5’s are the solution to shading. Can we have a FTS to see the growth?Hey Crew,
The time has come for me to make changes with my present lighting. I'll explain:
Tank is a 60" X 24" X 24" and is predominantly SPS, specifically Acros. I went nuts at the beginning and used every possible piece of real estate to place a frag. I was so happy that losses were a very minimal (less than 5%) and most corals immediately encrusted.
My lighting was two Kessil AP700's and then switched to Two Kessil Ap9X's. After a few months in I added two Orphek 48" Blue Bars which would kick on for about 4 hours at night.
No issues...
Then these things decided to GROW. The Dipping Dots, Miyagi Tort, and several others are going nuts. I cut and fragged but shading is still an issue. I'm an old school guy and I have two retrofit kits which I plan to add to my canopy. This will give me 4 X 48" T5's in addition to the existing Kessils and or in place of the Orphek's, not sure yet.
I'm hoping this will help with the shading issues and give me more even coverage going forward.
I guess I'm looking for reassurance and ideas from those who have been there before I jump in head first.
Thanks, had to use an 85b under the blues.amazingly nice coloration.
I know you're more of an LPS fan.amazingly nice coloration.
Which leds grow lps well, and not a lot to worry about shading. The couple of acros I do like... The shaded undersides drive me crazy. I just never installed a t5 kit. I'll probably want to add a fan for circulation.I know you're more of an LPS fan.
Yes, its just part of the process with acros. Either you chop away or you resign yourself to some die off in the base or underside and we won’t even talk about the war going on below the scenes on the encrusting parts.Which leds grow lps well, and not a lot to worry about shading.
