Nice video. Sorry those who don't like or even own a bounce chimed in with their negativity on your thread. I've had my OG bounce for 3 years and I love it. I bought mine as a booger for $350, before the craze started. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there are a some rich people in this world that 10 grand is no big deal. There aren't many of them out there but that is who that sale price was geared to. The hype has just about peaked according to some in the know. Just about everyone who has ever purchased the OG has fragged it to recoupe their investment and as a result the market is just about saturated even at the $4-500 range.

I wouldn't spend $1k on any coral, let alone $10k.
I don't think I've ever even paid $100 for a frag.
I was looking at a purple tang yesterday that's $130 and even that I have to think about.
Not that I don't have the money, but I have a hard time parting with it for something that could be dead the next morning.

I still don't understand the craze, when I started reef keeping, most folks considered mushrooms as "ehh" or a "nothing special" coral. Now that we can turn them atomic yellow with blue lights, sellers want people to mortgage their homes just to buy one. I actually saw this at RAP when the lights were off and to me, it just resembled a brown blob <-=-JMHO

It's still just a mushroom.

Are these as prolific as other mushrooms? If so I would pay 10k then throw it in a blender and pour the smoothie back into my tank then three months later bam! I'm rich

I could never imagine spending this much money on a coral, fish, etc. even if I had the money to blow on it. Like someone else said, I have a hard time paying as astronomical amount of money for something that could be dead the next day. If I bought that thing I would go nuts just making sure that it was alive and happy. I do think they're pretty cool looking though.

.....I don't get this beyond "bragging rights", you could build such an awesome set-up or just 100% stock a tank for $10,000.

Definitely would never pay that much but a few hundred sure. They are very hardy and can certainly fund quite a bit of your hobby easy enough.

I like that berserker in the video, i may have to start looking for that one

Let me start with saying,... it's all relative. In order to answer this question logically there are way too many variables to consider. Is that a piece for a collector? How much money does a person have? , How much do they want that piece? , How many other pieces like that are out there? Depends on the situation the person is in . I believe ultimately its a collector's hobby and nothing in this hobby is worth a penny unless there is a demand for it. Asking whether this shroom is "worth the money" is almost like asking are these paintings worth the money.?
