Thanks for the compliments guys! As far as their temperament goes, hard to tell how they will be but they are very feisty. The ceramic cave was made by a friend of mine. Turns out there is no replacing a standard pot. The contours making it realistic also made it difficult to see the eggs. It also threw the parents off their cycle as i had no replacement to give the parents when i took the cave out for the eggs to hatch.
Right now they are 3 months old.

Those are awesome!! Would love some but I got clowns already. I am also tagging along to see how they come along with color, size and temperment.

This is a really good thread about an unusual event in an aquarium. Please keep it free of buying and selling.

I can't wait to see progression pics, when they start maturing it'll be really interesting to how the colors will develop.

Very cool. I have a female mis bar gold stripe and a male onyx (I think) paired (by accident of course) there both pretty young yet but I'm hoping some day they'll make babies

hey Bob,
In a reef, it's kinda luck of the draw but if they have bonded you may get lucky! If you have them isolated into a breeding system, there are things you can do to trigger breeding instincts.

That would make a very interesting offspring I think.

Thanks ocean cube! These guys are pretty finicky. The water has to be perfect. I just finished my masters so I kinda neglected the system a bit. Now Ive graduated, i will have more time to dedicate to these guys...And my other 25 fish lol.
It's been 4 months since they last laid eggs. When they get their groove perfect it goes like this.
Day 1 lay
Day 7 first few eggs hatch 10%
Day 8 majority hatch 80-85%
Day 9 the rest 5-10%
Day 17-20 expect another batch.
