I have always enjoyed watching frags grow into colonies it is probably one of my favorite things in this hobby. Today I was going through some of my pictures of my ORA Red Planet and shared it with my local forums, so I thought I would share it here as well. Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind comments :) I bought the frag in July of 2011, so it has been about a year and a half, but I am happy with the growth. It was attacked by redbugs about a year ago, which stopped its growth completely, but I got rid of the bugs with interceptor and it has done great since. It is under 250wat mh pheonix 14k, and 2x24watt t5 actinics. For good color I have noticed that frequent waterchanges have helped, as well as good flow. If I dont keep up on the water changes it seems like the green base fades.

Nice growth. I acquired a red planet frag about 3 months ago and it's starting to lose its red color but showing a lot of green. Wonder if its a placement issue. I have mine mid way up the tank under LEDs. Any thoughts?

From my experience you get more red with higher light and more green with lower light. Not sure though since you have yours at the top. Mines under MH though.

I do know that placement(light level) affects the color. Try moving it, or if its big enough make a frag and move that.
