Thanks! For some reason I can't make the replies skip down to the next line. The letters just keep going on in the same line until the full width of the box is filled. Tried the enter key, tab key. Am I missing something?

Thanks, MrFresh. That's one of my first SPS, the green slimmer. It's a very, very fast grower for an SPS, have had to frag it several times already.

Wow! I haven't seen a tank like that in a long time!
Very nice, I don't see one negative about it.

What would you say is the main thing you do to keep your tank successful and where others fail?
Also how long has the tank been up? When was the first pic you posted taken?

Thanks, guys.

I started the tank March 2010, so that first photo is probaly May 2010. The last photo in that series of FTS was last month, July 2013.

However the tank turned out, it was plain dumb luck, IMO. The system is somewhat of an oddball among reef tanks. Here's the full spec. It's a 150 gallon Marineland reef ready tank, maybe 100 lbs rock, 3" medium grain black aragonite substrate. Light fixture is three 150watt 10K DE MH with eight 39W T5 actinis plus 6 LED moonlights. There are four 1400 Koralia Evos, plus a 1400GPH return pump going out through 4 nozzles. There is a 20 gallon remote dedicated refugium plumbed in to the system, with 5" sandbed, a few rocks piled up as a pod condo, and lots of macroalgae that need to be trimmed monthly. In-sump skimmer rated for 300 gallons running dry skim. Mubble magus doser for 3 part dosing: alk/calcium/mag. Here's the odball part: the sump has 2 giant biowheels!

I think one of biggest factors that helped was the regular 20 gallon weekly water change. This hid and corrected a lot of unknown sins and noob mistakes.
