I set up this tank about a year and a half ago. I didn't have much money but i had a whole lot of determination. I made most of the more expensive types of equipment myself such as the protein skimmer, the overflow, and the sump. It is lit by six 6" led strips, and four t8 bulbs of temperatures increasing from 650c0k all the way to 20000k. I have five small pumps placed around the rockwork for circulation. I use only tap water for top off and water changes as i cannot afford an RO/DI unit. I have only done about three water changes in the one and a half year lifetime if this tank. This along with using tap water for top off has created a minor ongoing hair algae problem.to combat this i have decided to keep several species of macro algae in both my sump and display tank. Display tank inhabitants are; 1 percula clownfish, 1 blue damselfish, green star polyps,,holiday favia, green and red mushrooms, toadstool, hammer, xenia, red chalice, cabbage coal, several species of zoanthid and palythoa, a feather duster, one peppermint shrimp, haleameda macro algae, calearpa macro algae, and dragon fire macro algae,
