You have got to be kidding me.....when I bought my live rock for my tank I cured it in a smaller aquarium for a week to nab hitchhikers...there was a mantis shrimp that came with it and I thought "great I'll set this small tank up for the mantis when I am done" but it died during the curing process. I decided after a bit that I wanted a Mantis tank anyway and so I ordered one off of TBS and set it up, which they were way delayed on shipping and it finally showed up yesterday (tank has been set up waiting for it for a while). Got it in its new tank, it seems ok, just hanging out in his little hole. This morning I'm sitting in my office and see a puff of sand come out form a rock and go "Oh, the pistol shrimp moved". nope....very small mantis....what the heck....
