Tank
Tank will be 48"L x 30"W x 24"H I wanted to go 36" W but door to my master bedroom would not allow me to fit the stand in

Tank is Starphire on three sides with external overflow.

I went with 1/2" glass on all the sides but the bottom will be double 1/2" glass siliconed together.

Flow

1" seaswirl fed by tunze return pump 1073.040
2 x tunze 6105 streams
2 x tunze nano 6055
1 x 6206 Nano Wavebox

Filtration

Skimmer will be I tech 200 with an Avast Swabbie Neck Cleaner

Modified Vertex zf-15 to run NP Biopellets

I plan to swap out Carbon and GFO at two week intervals through a TLF 550 reactor

Lighting

Temporarily use

ATI Powermodule 8x36" T5
2 x reefbrite all blue leds

I am going to buld to a 40" diy dimmable led with 2 x 36" t5 fixture controlled by a profilux

Dosing

Profilux 4 channel doser

Dosing daily CA, ALK, MG and Trace Elements try to do sort of a diy balling method/Two Part

I am big proponent of dosing Vitamin C, Amino Acids, Brightwells Koral Color and MB7 I will continue to dose these manually every three days.

Controller

I currently own a Apex which I use as my main controller but also have a Profilux II with a doser that I only use to dose my tank. My plan for the future is to upgrade the Profilux II to a Profilux III and make it my main controller as I plan to run diy leds and like Profilux new PWM led module.

The back is Black abs it will actually be inside the tank with teeth cut in where the overflow is. The pics were taken when the builder had the abs on the back when he was measuring the abs before it was cut to fit the inside of the tank

Here is the stand it is made from 1" squared tubing and has a custom light rack that can be moved up and down and forward and back.

Stand will be skinned with oak with a blend of mahogany/cherry color finish. All 3 sides will have magnets so i can remove them to get full access to the sump

I went overboard on the light rack as I want something to hold the weight of a 40" heat sink and have the piece of mind at night it won't fall into my tank

I did not make the tank or stand as we have a couple of great members in my local fish forum that are experts at making them

Awesome tank Pampee! Can't wait to see it come together. How is the overflow designed? Looks like a false wall in the back?

the back glass will have black abs with teeth cut in and will attached and i will have a glass external overflow.

I definitely need the room my small tank is overflowing in corals and will be converted to a grow out/frag tank and this will be my main tank

so look for me to be ordering some sps in the near future

Man, this is gonna be a heck of a build. That's a pretty awesome stand you've got there!

I like the stand. It looks like you have holes drilled with a pin to hold the hood at a particular height or location? Nice idea. Hopefully the lights don't get heavy.

yeah there are pins to raise the light fixture and also on the top to move it forward and back if i need to work on the tank for extended time or adjust how the light shines down in the tank

Sounds nice! The stand will be awesome as well. I will have a ton of SPS in stock by the time you are ready.

very nice setup pampee! let me know if you need help w your leds. What kind of rock you got for it?

i am using my old marco rocks from my 250 gallon tank i had up. I kept most of the choice pieces and will use some from the tank i have now. Between you and wayne i think i will have a pretty nice fixture. I plan to use cree leds (white, royal blue and blue) 3 rows of 13 leds and 3 x Mean Well ELN-60-48P to run off my Profilux

It will be an awesome setup! I really like the stand with the light rack. Both David and Wes have done a great job.

So what became of this build??

I am wanting to remove my 120 tall 48" long tank in my living room due to space I can go much over 48" might could do an odd size like 55" long.

I am wanting someone to build me a tank from starphire glass on 3 sides.

Did this tank get completed? Any finished products?

Who built it has it held up are they still building tanks?

Yes tank has been running for almost couple years now. A local dfwmas member built the tank for me, he has actually built my last 3 tanks including this one.

The tank is built like a Sherman tank it's pretty solid 1" bottom pane and stepped eurobracing and I run a tone of flow 3 x tunzes 6105's and a mp40w.
