This Tread will document my 65 Gal tank build... which I started on March 1st 2012.. as part of a total family room remodel... so they say you need patience in this hobby... I'm thinking I should win the prize!.. as of today, March 30th 2013 my cabinet is not finished so I still have not officially started my reef tank. This will be my first attempt into the saltwater hobby..after years of freshwater keeping. So, suffice it to say, I've been doing a lot of reading and planning and I'm trying to start out on the right foot...including buying what I hope are all the right products...lighting, skimmer, pumps etc. So, I thank all of you on this forum and others who have contributed greatly to my knowledge to date.

That's our cat, Joy!...she can't wait either! I had some sheets of foam board around so I decided to add it to the wall - which I'm super glad I did to help contain some of the sounds coming from the sump area.

My sink/basin built within the base of my tank: I'm taking no chances and actually - even during my initial set ups and tests - it came in QUITE handy! Thank goodness it was there to catch all the water when a hose slipped out from the sump...all the water poured down the sink! I can't imagine what all that water would have done to my family room.

These are all the photos I have so far. Believe me, I can't wait to get this tank going, but the cabinet maker has been ill... I'll keep you posted.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Please note that if you mouse-over most of the photos, there are some notes on them. Thank you.
