yes, its a glass holes box rated at 1500GPH which will be ran by a reef flo dart. the tank is a standard 125 that i drilled for the box and the ocean motion with a reef flo barracuda. so far there is a hum but its much quiter then my moded MJ.
well i have a lot of little things to do, and this little things can cost just as much as a big one. i should have a lot done in the then next week or two. for starters the close loop feed and big and ugly as is, here is a pic of it
here is one with the strain covers. looking a little better but not enough.
here is it now with pond foam covering most. looking even better. i may cover the foam with a 2 part epoxy and sand. i still need another can to finish the other side gets me one more step closer. i did leave some water on the bottom so the foam doesnt stick to the glass, we'll have to wait 24 hours and see.
more stuff done, thanks everyone.
i picked up another can of pond foam from lowers this time, differnt brand, still black. you can clearly see the diffence in the two. the lower foam looks rounder and smoothers then the HD foam. i used a mix of sand and crush coral to cover the foam.
part of the next step is done. ran out of expoy. sense the tank will be barebottom i wanted not to see the glass. i cut up the shower board and covered it with epoxy, sand, and crush coral.
real easy to cut up the shower board , score it with a blade and fold it.
after covering it. i used the 5min epoxy this time same price and yes it was 5 min like it said. the 60 min stuff took a lot longer to harden. i only had enough to cover a about 1/3 what i needed and ran out. :<
well sense it was way too boyant to use i had to redo it. i start by removing little at a time and tie wraping LR to the CL feed. took me around 6 try of removing replace with LR and testing. i ended up removing 85 to 90% of the foam. even after remove so much it is till boyant but doesnt float to the top of the tank any more.
all the foam i removed.
the cl feed after i wasfinished with it and refoamed some of the areas where you could see the tie wrapes.
close up
and once again covered the foam with epoxy, sand and crush coral.
close up
what a pain!
i am now drain the tap water and adding RO water. i need to finish the wood work and do the electrical.
