Marine Magic Doser - Bionic 2 part

IMG_5121.JPG

This reef tank was set up at the beginning of graduate school with the understanding that I would put as little money into it as possible. It has worked so far, but it is honestly suffering by this point (2 years later)

Plans for the near future:
  1. Try adding one Sunblaster T5 to the light bar using an AI Hydra26 mounting bar
  2. Adding Red Sea Trace Colors once per week
  3. add a Coralife airstone small skimmer and upgrade the heater to a Neo-therm
  4. Changing biweekly/monthly water changes to Red Sea blue bucket from IO (I've had good success with this salt in the past)
  5. Changing out the doser. (I'm hoping that father's day brings me a GHL Maxi Doser... we'll see )

Looking good, if you add the coralife skimmer be sure to buy a handful of extra wood airstones, they will sort of rot and break apart after a couple of weeks.

I installed a coralife air stone skimmer and it’s working very well. I had to dial down the air this morning because it was pushing the lid up with dry foam

The Coralife airstone skimmer is now dialed in nicely. I had to lower the skimmer into the water so I could get wet foam. I originally tried dry foam with this skimmer, but it pushed the top off of the skimmer and spewed skimmate out of the lid’s air exhaust.
At the end of the day this little skimmer provides a lot of value given its $30 price tag. I’m happy that I bought it.

So would you say the single AI prime HD is not enough light? I’m considering this tank and looking at lighting options
