Well, this is my new 40b Reef build. I'm starting with an aqueon 40b, with an aqueon 20l as the sump. (Thanks to $1/50% Petco) Drilled the overflows today, installed the bulkheads and CPR overflow box. The DIY stand is not wrapped yet, but I plan on creating smooth, sleek lines all around. Haven't decided on whether or not to do doors, or make the entire front removable. Painting it semi-gloss black. Still have to get the sump baffles made, and installed. I like things simple, so probably just a three chamber system. Skimmer/Fuge/Return. This is going to be a long process, especially with trout season starting tomorrow, and turkey next week. (PA). I do like to catch and eat, about as much as I like to keep!

Nothing to update, as I had a plumbing emergency in the build room. Luckily nothing, as far as the aquarium is concerned, was damaged. Hopefully I can continue with the build after I get the garage back together. Still looking for an in-sump skimmer, and return pump. Still haven't decided on what the wrap the stand with either...

Well, I haven't actually built anything additional yet, however, I picked up a couple Gen3 XR30 Pro Radions, a couple MP40WQD's, a Tunze 3155, a dual BRS reactor, and about 40lbs of Pukani rock! All of it is probably overkill, but I got a steal, and I know myself... I will probably upgrade in a years time anyway! Can't wait to get this plumbed in!

Lol this is how my 40b build started, and ended in a 120 [emoji847]

It has begun.

Aquatic hybrid T5.

Question, my radion xr30pro keeps tripping the GFCI. No problems on the other tank, with no GFCI. Tried 3-4 different GFCI outlets and it’s the same. Any thoughts?

Well after a little research, apparently this is a very common issue with power supplies from Gen3 radions and newer GFCI switch’s. I contacted Ecotech and was kindly told to pound salt. My only option is to purchase the new power supplies, totaling an extra $300+ shipping. over $1500 in lights (new), and by trying to make your aquarium/house safer, you essentially render them useless. Unless you give them more money, lol.

Well, here it is. Continued with the Radion, as I spoke with someone from Ecotech, and supposedly, I am to receive a new power supply. I have switched the outlet to a non GFI for now. Will be purchasing a new Apex with misc modules and a water mixing station as well, locally, in the next few weeks. Pretty soon, will be upgrading to a larger tank...

Would like to renege all negative comments towards Ecotech. I have received a new power supply, free of charge. After speaking with the rep at MACNA, he immediately wrote an email to the service department and took care of the issue. I will continue to promote Ecotech, and they’re products. A+.

Cool looking tank, I like the aquascape! Do you have any close up pictures on the fish?

Nothing to extravagant. Yellow clown Goby, Wyoming white and Frostbite clownfish, sixline wrasse, diamond watchmen Goby, and a flame angel.

Picked these up, from a local reefer breaking down, in addition to a couple new upgrades. New Gen4 XR30 Pro, water mixing station, and new Apex! Can’t wait to have some time, and set everything up...

Well, I am pretty sure that I will be coming home to a mess.... The power has been out to my house since 2am this morning, and I’m at bear camp... I have been waiting to put a whole house genee until my father got a new one down camp and now this...

I guess I got lucky, as nothing in my tank passed... 19+- hours with no heat, filtration, or water movement besides sloshing it around with a serving spoon. Only some minor bleaching on a few SPS that have since healed. Dodged a bullet!

Well, after waking up in the new year to a bunch of texts and emails from my fusion account, stating that I had a power outage, I immediately went to Lowe’s and purchased a portable generator! My tank dropped to 70F before I got everything hooked up. Twice this year with an extended outage.... After 6 years without an issue. Anyway, I feel much better now that I have a backup!

Removed the anemones and clowns, as I’m switching to primarily SPS with a few LPS. Going to replace the lost bio-load with some chromis or maybe another wrasse. Undecided at the moment. Input very welcomed.
