I have just finished building a stand and have found that the top isn't quite level - it's about 3-4mm off. Will a 50mm EPS board on top of the plywood allow for these small deflections to level out?
Hi, I have been running a Fluval Evo 13.5 on an IKEA Alex storage unit and Karlby table top for ~6 years. Been considering adding a sump inside the cabinet/storage-unit for more equipment space (UV-C for medical reasons), water vol, frag tank. Despite the setup working for so long (no bending...
So I'm a student living in dorm, and I'm planning to upgrade to a bigger tank (15 g to 30-40 g), as the administration allowed it. I want to know if my table will be able to support it. It looks sturdy, i would even say i trust it more then 50% of commercially available stands that i see on sale...

I am about 50% done with my aquarium stand build - it will be for a 90 gallon tank, 42" long, 24" wide. I am using 2X4s, and I was focused on finding really straight pieces when I picked out the lumber at home depot. I am using 226 Stimson Kiln Dried HEM FIR STUDs. It is very straight and dry...
