splitting hammer

Hi everyone! I’ve had this hammer coral for about four months, and up until a week ago, it was doing great. Recently, I noticed a strange line running down the middle, and all the polyps have closed up. It almost looks like it’s splitting, but I’ve never seen a hammer coral divide in this way...

The hammer has been growing like crazy the past year. The parameters are good and stable like normal. I did start feeding the fish and coral more. As well doing a 10% water change every 10 days or so instead of 25% every month and the growth has been great. Been doing this for past 5 months...
