Not open fully yet, but can already see some beauties! Storms coming through our area so no bright sunlight right now to get these guys to open yet. Will update tomorrow when the sun is out again.

They will be more happy with the fact it was mentioned how they clean them. Probably why there is a higher success rate here than anywhere else among other things. Excellent husbandry.

I was going to ask how you clean them then saw the video, so thank you for putting it up. Interested in how you handled them, pressure of brush, hands, etc. I would be a nervous wreck I'm sure.

These are awesome, but unfortunately my new tank isn't setup yet. How often do you get aquacultured clams in like these?

How long should I let my tank be established before I can add a clam? I'm planning on getting it rolling this weekend with some caribsea live sand, some water mixed from ro/di water, a mix of dry and liverock and some Dr. Tims saltwater one and only.

Tank is a IM nuvo 30L AIO which will be lit with two AI hydra 26's. I have a protein skimmer and a media reactor which I wasn't planning on running until later when more stuff was in the tank.

The frequency of our imports of the cultured clams varies due to availability from the farm, although we usually have some in stock most of the time.

The cultured clams are hardy and fairly easy to keep, certainly easier than wild collected clams. Once your tank is stable you should be good to add a clam. If you use bagged live sand, fully cured rock such as the Real Reef rock we use, and have a decent skimmer and lighting you should be good to go. I do not use any supplements when starting a new tank. You can see my other thread on the topic:
