Also, make sure your DI resin is still good. A spike in silicates from exhausted DI resin could cause a diatom bloom, which can look like dinos, too.

I can see strings in places so I highly doubt it’s diatoms. Trust me, I wish it was a case of diatoms for the OP’s sake.

nothing looks pale, alot of them look fine but my big zoas are fully retracted

Sorry you are getting contradictory advice. Imo, looking at your picture, corals are getting aggravated by toxic algae. That algae is fueled by inorganic nutrients, add more get more. That is how biology works in “reality”. Manually remove it and wait.

Also, stop dosing AB+. I have read many cases where AB+ is fueling dinos.

. Your understanding is flawed and you lack a basic understanding of biology. There is a fine line between “nuisance” algae and “desirable” algae that this article describes and many here are misunderstanding.

well all is well, sorta. I really wanted to keep this tank running but its been to much of a pain, i decided to just take all the coral out, dip and clean them, and place them all in my tank that only had fish.
