Are wolves still protected or can they be hunted?

Still protected. There was a hunt a couple years ago. Coyotes are open season 24/7 all year long. Wolves got a taste for some miniature horses on a place east of me, that got ugly.

I'm sorry but they would be dead wolves... can they not even be shot if they are attacking livestock?

I don't know all the rules on that. But they do end up getting taken care of.
