Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Mine is every Monday, which I go over in this thread.
Everyone does everything differently, every tank is different but I'll sum mine up for you and if you have any questions just fire away.
I change 15 gallons of water every Monday.
I clean my skimmer every 3 days. Top only, whole thing every 3 months.
Clean sock when full. About every 3 days.
I test 3 things every week.
Phos, nitrate and alk.
Sometimes I test nitrate before and after water change.
I'll replace carbon in reactor weekly, gfo when test is higher than I like.
Scrape algae scrubber every other week.
My tank has been going 7-8 years or so. Nothing much happens and it really takes me longer to arrange all my buckets of water than maintain unless I spill everywhere or decide to do something I don't need to and then undo that back to original. :upside-down-face:
I clean my wave makers monthly.
That's important for longevity. I hate buying new stuff cuz I'm lazy.
Thank you!

My son is here where my Dad learned to fly when he was 16 also. We do plane restoration with a group of kids for flight time/lessons.
That's awesome!
Love to see pictures of some of the planes.
My daughter learned to fly when she was 16 also!
I can't get on a ladder.

Thank you!
That's just a sorta round about.
Honestly once your golden it sorta runs itself.
As long as you always do the same thing the same way, your golden too.

I'm the only girl that gets greasy
Same with my daughter.
Boys won't do any of that stuff, just computers.
I'm just glad she's smarter than I am.

I might need to pick your brain when I get my sump ready please.
yes anything for you and everyone I meet here. I build my sumps either from sheet of acrylic or like this last one, was easy to just use my old 140 acrylic tank. 72x20x22, The 300 has 4 radion gen 5 xr30 blues and 3 kessil a360x.

some stuff in the sump has been upgraded since pic. Did away with the air exchange tower , took out the blue bio balls ans added 2 boxes of siporax into the tower at a medium flow rate. took out the bio pellet reactor, did not likethe results but you can see the tunze 9410 just to the right of it in sump chamber 2. Reef octopus 300 is in sump chamber 3. for reference.

We will have a very light bioload. Fuge and another organic filtration. Wanted a low profile skimmer just for the uglies.

Heading to bed early tonight I have to get up at 2:00am to head to Georgia to go rabbit hunting. I hope you guys have a great evening!
