Rant: I’m not going to mention names cause I’m not looking to tarnish a reputation but this has been on my mind all day I been doing online auctions with a semi local LFS it’s a little over a hour away and I have started to notice a trend every week in the auctions recently now to start all corals have 1$ reserve but every week there’s a bidder that aggressively counter bids from the start and bids on and wins the same frags every week it’s become a little annoying and yes I get it that’s the game of bidding but I felt there’s more to this and after picking up some of my winnings today and jokingly asking the shop owner “who’s this (username) that bids and wins the same corals every weekend it’s getting personal” and his wide eyed shocked reaction and B/S response almost proved my gut feeling im 99% sure he’s bidding on his own auction to either drive the price up or protect him from a loss this aggravates me and I get it it’s business and sales strategy but why not set your reserve or start the auction at a price to a number your comfortable with so you don’t have to play these games I can’t prove this but i do love love love this LFS I drive a little out of my way atleast once a month to check in see what they have it’s always quality stuff and 9Xs out of 10 he always gives me a deal has have always been a great help to me but I feel like im being cheated/lied to now and don’t appreciate it or am I just a sore looser
