Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Guys I think I have an aiptasia invasion but I can't get a good picture to show you guys. It looks like the ones I had on that stupid rock that my leather coral was on but they don't have the stem part just the top part. I seen some the other day on the glass but I thought it was algea so I scrubbed it off which was a bad idea if it's Aiptasia. Now I have a bunch on the back glass and some on the front glass. I am thinking about getting a filefish not just for them but I think they are neat looking. Bad idea or good?

Don't freak out. Peppermint shrimp or nudibranch will eat them like cake.

I have two peppermint shrimp should I get more? The shrimp always stay in the same area and I haven't seen them get on the glass which is where they are.

Weird it’s going on glass. We need a pic. I think those fish are awesome looking, would want one just because. They are hit or miss on eating aptesia though, but you have a larger enough tank that he could just be a cute fish. I thought I had 2 aptesia 3 months ago, got two peppermint shrimp and nothing ever since. Not sure if it was aptesia though but I’m rdy with the shrimp

You can let them grow enough to grab them with tweezers and gently razor the foot off the glass. Just get a few at a time.

File fish are hit/miss and may eat coral. You could definitely try it though. You can always remove and take back to lfs if that happens.
Pretty common to return them - I think LFS should just rent them.

These are the best picture I could get tried with my phone and my real camera you can't see much other than the greenish blob but they have branches or whatever you call them. They look more red than green depending on the light...

IME they will move toward the upper part of your glass (for flow I suspect) so when you do a water change, drop the water line below that. Razor, paper towel them off. I only use white paper towels.

I have really bad eyes, but that doesn’t look like aptesia. Can u get a photo of one on a coral?

They seems green, never see aptasia this color. Yes better photo to be sure. I got one on nearly half the frags. I take the frag out of the tank in a container, scratch it and glue the part where it was :face-with-tears-of-joy:. Of course throw away the water of the container.
