quick ? i did a water change trying to raise my salinity . it was at 1.022 now 1.024 . did my corals freak out or do they go back in like this every nite ? first 3 pics now last 3 was this morning

Any time there is a rapid change in water parameters the corals need to retract some and then slowly reflate to balance their internal water chemistry with the surrounding water chemistry. That is one of the reasons that slow is always best with a saltwater tank.

Thank you yea i did a rather large water change about 20 percent and it still didn't raise it enough . maybe i should wait a few days to do another one ?

Yes in a few days is good...no water changes here in the 300....

20% is about the max I ever do unless there is an emergency situation, like accidently overdosing something dangerous. I personally would wait at least two day to allow the corals to adjust to the new chemistry and then do the other water change. Everything should be fine.

Thank you everyone this is all so new to me and its so much fun I'm already looking at my other IM nuvo fusion 20 gallon like ....yep them fresh water fish are coming out and I'm gonna make that one a saltwater next :) i have 2 :)

Looks like I missed another 10 pages of posts yesterday. I'm not sure how you all do it. I'm lucky if I'm able to pop on here a couple times a day. Maybe I need to take another course in time management.
