It doesn't support the CE Editions either, which is what I have.

The Maxspect XF330 and XF350 came in two versions the first version used a different controller and works with Hydros via cable and the wave engine replaces the controller. According to the Hydros site, the wave engine only supports the original version not the Cloud Edition which, I think, is the only one they sell now. Not sure what the difference is as I never bought the Hydros after I read the wave engine specs. It may work for all I know but the specs say no.

From the wave engine spes:

**Only the original first-generation (non-cloud) Maxspect Gyre Series 300 pumps are compatible.

Thought I should point it out, just in case.

hey . I did some research, reached out to a few people and have told me that they do not use the maxspect controller and they have no issues with hydros wave engine using XF330/350 cloud edition.

Good to know.

I considered the Hydros but since I already had the Cloud Editions I didn't want to waste my money. I always thought it was a little strange that they would not work. Maybe it doesn't support one of the functions or something but I have a hard time believing that they changed something internal to the pump.

Please let me know after you hook it up. I'm still considering some Hydros and if I can use my existing pumps without issue it would help with my decision. Thanks.

Just heard back from the folks at Maxspect and they confirmed that it will work with WaveEngine :)
 
I just found the above on the forum...so I copied to share with you...
People are saying the gyres are the same but updated versions of the old 300 series and now people saying they are using these old ones as well...guess I will find out once it all gets here...
...IT is the controller that you can not use with the hydros...whicj makes sense...
But for sure it does not support my two mp40 so these will be getting sold.
 
my guess is that certain co are paying to be listed as a working item with the hydros or any other product out there. My guess other co such as maxspect are not paying ...or my guess is that ice cap has some sort of deal to be pushed as the gyre that works...
My issue is my tank is 3/4 acrylic and icecap only goes to 5/8 and that must be a license deal they have with maxspect. they can use some of their design but can't go over 5/8 inch ..

Thanks again, I suspect it has nothing to do with the pumps but that the wave engine may not support all of the tuning that the cloud edition controller offers. Not a big deal to me as long as I can get decent, programable flow. It is hard for me to put into words just how much I dislike the Maxspect App. I've used it for a year or so and not once have I not had to go back in to it because it is undocumented (other than some short wordless video clips) and not, at least to me, intuitive. It is worth it to me to buy a Hydros just to never see that app again.

I don't know if it is true or not but I read somewhere the Maxspect actually makes all of heads for themselves, IceCap and AI.

yes I agree I have the old max 300 and the controller is a pain in the a to program and the screen is to small and then half the time it does not do what I want. I cant get them to alternate no matter how I program them...so this wave V2 is my hope ...
 
I have the XF350 and an IceCap Jump 2K running on my Hydros WaveEngine. Not sure if it's CE Maxspect or not - I got them secondhand. The IceCap came as a combo with the WaveEngine - same box and everything - so it is made for it for sure.

lol...just like flat screen tv's, only the name outside is what is different most parts are made only in a few places and the tv makers just buy guts and formulate their own idea of how things should work with parts made from other places. same with dishwashers, I know Jen Air is maytags top of the line product...Girl just got me a few weeks ago for a jen air 2600.00 lol she gets dishwasher I get hydros...but I pay for everything hahahah
