I would think in nature they are kind of grouped same kind together? I have never been scuba diving so I may be wrong.

Kevin’s right that it’s up to you but I like to make it like an interior design project and spread them around in different parts or the tank .

I like to keep them together as a lot of the time they won't murder each other. It also depends if they are all the same color or look good growing on their own. Like for the gorgonians I would separate them but if you have a hammer garden. That is a chefs kiss perfect!

For me, together, you can always have them in different parts of the tank, but make sure there's nothing so close that they can fight

So as a result of adding bacteria to my food mix and using a concoction of fermented foods/bacteria/aminos/etc, my Alk dropped from 8.6 to 7.3 in a week. NO3 dropped from 16 to 6.5 and PO4 dropped from 0.20 to 0.09.
This equates to coral growth and coral nutrient uptake as well as more bacteria to break stuff down!
I will adjust dosing and check again next Sunday. I’ll report back.

I read the information you told me about. I 100% believe in the science of what you're doing. The numbers are hard to argue with and are kind of mind boggling.

I think it somewhat depends on the coral, but in large part, no. In my experience, torches tend to like a little company with other torches. It's almost like a friendly race to out do each other or something. Cynarina and Indophyllia (meats) like to lay across each other a bit and mine always looked better with a neighbor.

I agree with Kevin that they usually look better grouped (zoas, acans, mushrooms etc.) but I also think it looks natural to have some of the same coral spread around in a couple different spots. It's just your preference.
