Well, rough day today! I was temporarily laid off today, personal and business expenses became too much. I guess I saw it coming, I’m the highest paid employee. Closer to 60 yo than 59 yo now, not sure how many employers would be interested. I guess it’s going to be a waiting game with my fingers crossed. Not where I thought I would be at this age. Oh well, I’ll be pulling my boots up tomorrow. Sounding off as Debbie downer.

@kevgib67, sorry this happened. I was laid off twice and fired once. It never feels good, initially, and it is always stressful and a bit scary. That said, everytime I looked back after a few days and realized I felt calmer and more relaxed. Layoffs don't happen without some toxicity at the workplace and we internalize it even if we don't realize it. Enjoy your time off. You will get through it and come out the other end happier. The good news is that your boss wants to bring you back and didn't just shine you on missing payroll and making excuses.
