Alright everyone here is the problem.
Algae in the sand and algae on this one rock.
I know algae is always going to be here and there but it is making parts of the sand look really bad.
Starting off with the sand. The sand has had some hairy algae and I don’t know why it is there. I vacuum and stir up the sand bed weekly. Some is green/brown.

The algae on this one rock is like a sheet. Under it is air bubbles that keep coming back. It also has bubbles on the out side.

Nitrate is 12.0
Phosphate 0.06

Top pictures is algae in the sand and bottom picture is the rock.

Thank you everyone!

I am ready haha
How old is your tank! Uglies suck but they are part of the process. When your matures you can say goodbye. We have all been there. It will subside.

My tank is 8 months old. Yeah I have gone through the uglies two time but I have never seen this hair algae before in my tank.

^^This.
Very well said.
Just keep doing what you're doing and it'll all settle out.

If you started with dry rock you have got at least another 4 months to go but you will come out on the other side. A year from now you will have forgotten about the ugly stage and will just be looking at your beautiful tank. Hang in there, it gets so much better!

Is this considered dry rock? That is what I started out with. I can’t wait for a nice white sand bed.

It looks weird because one side of the tank has this brown hair algae on the sand and the other half is actually white!

Like I said before I'm very proud of you for where you are now.
In all my years of doing this the one thing I know is don't make large changes trying to fix stuff.
It always backfires.
Go slow. You're tank looks great, progressing well don't overthink things.
Stay the path.
Make sense?
