Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Thank you Jennifer for the clarification in Bayer. Saw the name so many times but didn't look at it.
The coral had the overall shape of a hammer but the tip didn't look like as a jelly bean. Some banana torches are quite similar, thank you Tim for the correction.
I am also going through an ugly phase since few days. Hopefully it won't become crazy.
I saw a good deal on Hanna alk and calcium only. Do you think it worth it? I didn't had time to look at them, I think calcium is not easy to use. Do you advise to go ahead? I am using salifert.

Hey, I used to use Bayer religiously on my roses every year, for many years! Fantastic product as far as it says what it does. But we didn’t know what we didn’t know. Other than beautiful roses.

Never used the calcium test but heard it's a bit hard to use.
I use hanna for phosphate, nitrate and alk.
Would never use anything else now.
Well worth it in my book.

I love my Hanna checkers. Too hard to read the colors on my own for other brands

Salinity/temp: Hanna Marine Salinity Tester

Nitrate: Nyos (will switch to Hanna during next big sale)

Phosphate: Hanna

PH: Hanna Ultra Low Range PPM
Marine pH

Alk: Hanna

Calcium: Red Sea (hate it, too hard for me. Switching to Hanna during next big sale)

Magnesium: Red Sea (hate it, too hard for me. Switching to Hanna during next big sale)

In retrospect I should have just bought the Hana Marine Master Photometer for ALL testing!!

But I had 3 of the Hanna’s already from my old tank and thought I should use.

The Alk definitely. Right now, calcium is not critical and if you have Sailfer for calcium, save money and use.

I have to go to Asheville tomorrow and might stop at a few stores over there. If they have any corals I want would they be okay in a bucket with water until Friday afternoon when I can dip them?
I would provide it heat and flow, a light over it wouldn’t hurt.

Dayton Ohio tornado on the ground? Stay safe
Thank you, Dayton is almost the farthest away from where I’m at in northeast Ohio. Thank god.
