Congratulations, so excited for you and your wife!

Good morning everyone just did my check on the QT and my little filefish died over night... is this the way its going to be with marine ick? Lose a fish a day until they are gone? I have dealt with freshwater ick and it was no where near this bad... :crying-face:

Sincerely sorry. I know velvet kill very fast. I have ich outbreak since 17 days. One fish it is very bad that sometimes I am thinking velvet but no death and no other symptoms. You have symptoms like hard breathing? lethargy? Not eating?

The clownfish are still eating and the firefish ate a little last night but I haven't seen my citron eat in several days. Could the empty QT tank be stressing then out? Should I add some hides or something for them?

You could add PVC elbow and tubes

Unfortunately, with marine tanks, you will lose all or almost all of your fish with any illness.
Kind of makes me not want to do saltwater but I won't give up I will just be smarter in the future.

So sorry Amanda, it gets so frustrating when you do everything you can and still suffer a loss. Hang in there and soon you’ll have a tank full of beautiful fish and the losses will be behind you.

Need math help again... how much salt do I add to get to 1.025 from 1.010 in roughly 30 gallons of water?
about a cup, but check as you add... :)

I got them big, they were on sale. My tank is not growing fast (surely because of phosphate). I was thinking if they take real estate, I might stop buying frags weekly :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:.
That’s actually a good strategy! You get to enjoy and your wallet gets a break - unless @tbrown is always tagging you on the latest live sales!
