Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I have to get an automatic food feeder since I’ll be traveling to SF and very likely surgery soon after.

What does everyone use?
Amazon Special, Eheim, Plank...

I've got 2 Amazon specials that work better than my Eheim. Haven't turned on the Plank yet, waiting to get more fish moved over.

They open a different cave every 2 or 3 days and at night they close it and open it again the next day after the light turns on.
They do, but I wuv my guy - he cleans the sand better then any other CUC. He has taken out a coral or two from burying, but those corals will now go in nano and anything else will be on a
Mound of rocks.

How can I not love this grumpy face?

Ive been using an Eheim feeder for about a year. Pros and cons with that one. Have an Avast Plank coming this week, which was a bit of a splurge.
I was thinking of avast - hoping they went on holiday sale. I dont need on regular basis, just these one-off travel things

Ooof, $25 Amazon vs. $200 avast.

What were the cons on Eheim and what was the trigger to spend the money on the avast?

Avast requires 2 timers, 1 has to be programmable down to minutes or seconds. The second doesn't have to be used if you leave the Sicce running continuously.

1 minute equals about 3/4 cube of frozen according to the directions.

Eheim gets moisture inside it easily in my experience.

Mine has done fine with moisture, but getting the opening just right for your pellets is a challenge. I super glued the opening between two notches so that TDO small pellets would drop out. The notch below would drop out a ton and the notch above none. Even with the opening glued, sometimes a pellet or two or three would get jammed and then only half or less of the normal amount would drop out. A bit frustrating. I usually check every morning for jammed pellets and punch them out.
