Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
reef salt is just a matter of preference and should be kinda close to the tank parameters you are trying to maintain. I used other more expensive salts and really did not see any advantage....switched to Instant Ocean the purple bucket cause it is easier to raise parameters up a little then trying to decrease them....The orange bucket I think has higher parameters.

@1ocean how long have you been reefing?
20 plus years... Used to work with a importer in NJ when I lived on east coast..to supply fish corals to my customers with my partner. But then had to get a job and make real $$$,,,perhaps when I retire I will open a small supply co...

If your going to open a supply co expect my card numbers. Here we go again with your mysterious job... Secret police? Mafia? CIA? YOUR KILLING ME

I absolutely loved that series, watched it every week religiously. The absolute worst ending I have ever seen, such a disappointment. The writers said they would reveal everything. The smoke monster? We will never know.
Yep saw the last episode last night....big let down.....

let just say we are on the right side of the bars, right the wrong for those that have been a victim of a very bad bad terrible experience.

yeah ...I never trusted LFS to keep up with changing their media when they sell RODI water...seems alot of people buy from them and it would be labor intensive to and cost prohibited to keep up...just my thought...especially when they selling it for like 25cents a gallon...

Good to hear your not a corlleone

So here's a list:
New di system
Reef crystals
Test kit
Spray rocks
Anything else I should add?
Just my opinion, but I used Reef Crystals for many years and it is perfectly good, however it does have additives in it that may cause brown precipitation on your mixing equipment and it does not store for longer periods of time, always devoped a musty smell after a month or so. I switched to using just regular instant ocean and it doesnt precipitate and stores indefinitely, its cheaper, mass produced and seems to have tighter quality control then the reef crystals I used. Salt really does depend on the parameters you are keeping, and amazing reef tanks are kept with every brand out there. Link to a thread about the diffences.

Also good morning!

hey cdemoss01 are you using reefroids or any food that is adding too much nutrients to the water????
Wild goji pellets. The reason I don't have all this stuff is because I'm a kid I don't got very much money currently.
