I think original owner sealed it. I was able to spin one of the returns off and it had glue residue but it was yellow and crusty leading me to believe he may have done this to all of them.

How do I post videos for clarity from iPhone so you guys can see a POV later. I don’t mind replacing all bulk heads. Trying to take my time with this: I think this will be my biggest challenge getting these off without ruining the glass with a tool or pressure.

So what's the general consensus for reef salt? Is tropic marin worth the 120$ for 200g worth of is there better options? I have no corals but am getting ready for my first ones and think I should swap away from instant ocean?

That would work if you're careful, yes.

I use the ratcheting kind at work but they're pricier.

Can you provide example. I’d rather get the better tool.

If you are changing it all out because it is ugly, that's one thing.
For me, if it functions and doesn't leak I would leave it alone.

I've used IO purple box for years with no issues.
Easy to supplement and bulletproof.
I'm sure tropic marin is great salt but I use a combo of red sea blue bucket and IO.
Red sea is $60 a bucket for me and that's my limit price wise.
I change a lot of water.

I don’t really want braided plumbing. The inside that I can feel is pretty dirty. That’s why I wanna swap it out. Also, I had struggle with perfectionism so it’s an internal struggle to look at haha

Idk yet. Too early to tell. I was thinking about picking up a wagyu ribeye from w.a. bean on the way home... but i made prime rib for Christmas and everyone thought it was too rare so I agree a aLOT
