I have a patient currently doing it. He leases acres of land to get syrup. He told me yesterday he is worried the season will be cut short due to the early warm weather.

Is it purple and yellow like it looks like in the picture? I just love it!

Yea I'm going to try to get more trees tapped next year. Only did 6 this year, I have 41 acres though so shouldn't have to much trouble finding trees! That said, I spent like 5hours boiling down 5 gallons.. next year might not he acres either. Unless I get a better burner system going and can do like 20 or 30 gallons a day. My neighbor and I are going to build a "sugar shack" this summer.

What exactly is a sugar shack for this of us that know nothing about maple syrup other than it comes from trees and we like to eat it?
