Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I’m worried our fearless leader had a wackier day than he let on. Not much Joel tonight. :crying-face:
Poor Joel he needs a vacation.

Yea I'm going to try to get more trees tapped next year. Only did 6 this year, I have 41 acres though so shouldn't have to much trouble finding trees! That said, I spent like 5hours boiling down 5 gallons.. next year might not he acres either. Unless I get a better burner system going and can do like 20 or 30 gallons a day. My neighbor and I are going to build a "sugar shack" this summer.

No innuendos :face-with-tears-of-joy:
Is a sugar shack like a love Shack?

Beautiful! Looks like my gold hammer, grows like a weed. I just fragged 7 heads and you can’t even tell.

Kevin, that's incredible. How long do you estimate it took to reach this size?

What exactly is a sugar shack for this of us that know nothing about maple syrup other than it comes from trees and we like to eat it?
Basically anything from a small shed to an actual building that you boil down your syrup in. That way you can boil rain or shine, and be warm. Ours will probably be like 8x10 or 8x12 little shed, with a wood firing stove and some bigger bins. With some sap boiling and while we wait for that to boil down the rest of the sap warming up so when we continually drip fresh sap, it doesn't slow down the boil

OJ ( that’s oh jeez for you older reefers, not orange juice or the murdering football player), I got in the summer of 2022 and I don’t even remember how many heads it had. I do know that this is the second time I fragged it and it still needs more.

Ok! I'm still boiling sap down but I managed to snap a picture of my new acans! @kingranch2003 full disclosure I showed my wife pictures of your tank when I came home with another random coral and told her you, put the idea in my head and the rest of the smorg enabled me :grinning-face-with-sweat: :face-with-tears-of-joy:

There you go brother! I would rather me take the heat for this, than you, lol. I absolutely love those Mike. There is nothing cooler to me than a coral that provides its own color contrast. That's a big colony too, hopefully you're forgiven because of how great they look!

"Another coral???.... well it is really pretty... :star-struck:" is exactly how the conversation went :face-with-tears-of-joy::face-with-tears-of-joy: to be fair, I was working in cumberland so I get per diem, so I just usually spend all of that at the coral shop on the way home lol

Is it purple and yellow like it looks like in the picture? I just love it!
Thank you Amanda! Yes it actually does have that look in person. It arrived today so it's still a bit cranky, but one of my cooler hammers for sure.

Oh man I need it... lol

I saw them in concert in a outdoor venue in the 80’s in Cleveland. They were great!
I wish I could've seen them. I have some of their 60s albums on vinyl. The Davies Brothers, always fighting, but still making timeless music for decades.
