Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Change of plans. After our OB appt today the doc thought it best to send us to the hospital for induction today. Non-emergent but he thought going ahead today the safest course.
Sending prayers for a smooth delivery and a quick recovery!

Yes, I know Tim, but what I was wondering about was a type of database with all the lights in the same place
for example, ( not real )
radion15 at 50% intensity gives 50 par at the bottom center, 100 in the middle of the tank and 200 on the surface, the same radion at 100% intensity gives 150 at the bottom center, 250 in the middle of the tank and 400 on the surface and so on with all the lights.
BRS has probably the closest thing to that currently. They even have some of the black boxes. I know they did my viparspectras and show you what height, and intensities get you what kind of par and spread

Sorry Mike that sounds like it sucks.
You guys who do this for a living are true heroes in my book and don't get enough credit where credit is due.
I appreciate it Joel! It made for a long day but it's all part of the job. Some days are better than others.

All of this would always be an approximation but it would help a lot to the Reef2Reef community who put the lights at a random value or watching a video on youtube (me lol ) I have thought about creating a thread to see if the people who know their pair would post it and so others could more or less know, but it would be better if someone with much more credibility created it and the comunity know more here because my threads do not go beyond 1 or 2 pages lol, But maybe I'll try it later when I get home.

I have no idea what to do with this tank.
Sucked out 2 gallons of water and dirty sand, just for esthetics.
Nitrates are 2 and phosphate 0.
Guess it shows a tank can be self sustainable since there's no filtration.

I mean it!
All I hear lately is AI this and AI that but AI can't make an omelet and it definitely can't fix the duct work in your ceiling.
You're a hero to me.

I upped the lighting in here...
20250317_131729.jpg
I know I said I'd leave it low for a month but since I can....
Was able to send phos to 0 last week but it climbed back up slowly.
Cleaning was only half an hour today, down from my usual 3 hours.
10 gallon change, reactor media change.
Way less brown algae.
Could be phos, could be lighting, could be MB7....

I seem to recall that someone on this thread ordered you to rest today and leave your tanks alone, oooh, they are going to be so mad! I hope they don’t court martial you.

im here! once in awhile i pop on but then i feel guilty because i know i should be doing something! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: hope everyone is doing well!
No feeling guilty! We're glad to see you whenever and wherever.

As usual I went all out for St. Patrick’s Day. The ladies are all saying I remind them of an Irish Chippendale dancer! Well none them actually said it out loud but I’m pretty confident they are thinking it!

If they're not thinking that, they're crazy!

Theres a sticky on the lighting section where everyone posts their tank depth, lights, settings, mounting height, and par

Theres a sticky on the lighting section where everyone posts their tank depth, lights, settings, mounting height, and par
only true readings with tank depth and light mounting height over the water would be the PAR directly under the light, everybody probably spaces their lights differently, but this would still be good, as long as you get a good mix of light brands.

Love the new profile pic! Is that your photo? I love powder blues, and the torch behind it is stunning!!!
Thank you!!
Yeah that was one of the first saltwater fish I got and I lost him around May last year due to ich. He was my favorite... I was new to saltwater and didn't quarantine or realize he needed a much bigger tank than a 75. :disappointed-face:
The 24k torch is a more recent addition i got it in November. I did a little photo editing lol:grinning-face-with-sweat:

So sorry about the loss! He was beautiful. I really wish I could get one for my tank, but I'll need a much bigger tank. Maybe someday....
