Birthdays are always the hardest for me in your situation Mike. My Dad's birthday was the day after mine. I always called him on his birthday and joked with him about copying me, or stealing my birthday thunder! The first bday without him was painful. I lost my joy that year, but I said it wouldnt happen again.
Use that day to remember him a little bit extra. Be happy, do something enjoyable if you can. Then any joy you find, will be the best birthday present you could ever give him.

I've got the week off and im going to try and stay busy, be productive around the house, and have a cold one for him on his birthday and probably sit outside by the fire and enjoy the crickets and the stars

Buddy I understandyou, I tell you that in Cuba I went fishing with 10 friends and we didn't have a boat, rod ( we used hand reels ) or anything, we took a bus for 45 minutes to an hour and then we got into a macarera where the big hermit crab breed and we filled 2 5-gallon buckets after several bites to fish for more than 18 hours lol, a bottle of rum, matches to make a campfire and cook fish, if we didn't catch something big we caught sardines to eat lol and they were the best fishing of my life and not because of the fish caught

Man I love watching the guys use beer cans to toss the line. Very impressive. This is real fishing

Married 22 years today.
We got married the 10th and I had to work the next day, which was our mother's day buffet the 11th.
Same thing this year!

First I sautéed garlic, onion, pepper and ajoporro, then I added different types of ham, after that I added ragù and vitanuova sauce, when I saw it was ready I added the pasta and then I added like 5 different types of cheese

Just popping in before I fall asleep to say hi. I fell in love with a horse and a donkey today but I can't have both so I'm trying to decide. I liked another horse as well but we couldn't catch her so I didn't get to meet her. I didn't ride the horse as it started raining so I will try him next time I see him and maybe meet the other one. Here are pictures of the horse and the donkey I loved. The lady said the donkey likes people but doesn't normally follow them around but he kept following me and nudging me gently wanting pets he has a messed up lip where he got it cut at sometime in his life but it's healed now. Then he almost fell asleep when I was petting his long soft ears. The horse is named Shorty and he's smaller than Leo. If you zoom in on the picture you can see tiny little spots on his grey coat.

I would love both she even told me she would just give me the donkey for free but my barn isn't big enough for 3 and Tony said no to the idea of making it bigger. I'm probably going to go with the horse especially since my son got me a cowboy hat that matches his for mother's day so that if we ever go ride together we will match. He's never told me he wanted to go riding with me until today and it made my heart happy. Here's a picture of me in the hat he bought me. Please ignore my goofy smile I'm awful at taking selfies.
