Ruger American is a great rifle!

Man aren't they!?? I was lucky enough to find an older unshot m77 Hawkeye in .35 whelen. I can't tell you the success I've had with that rifle. And it shoots so flat for that size round

Unfortunately when I bought my property that fun became a little impractical as I primarily brush hunt now. 12g buckshot/slug or my 300blk

We have a LOT less deer up in maine, they just tend to be bigger. Hence why you can only get one buck a year and can apply for a doe tag

Down in AZ it's one deer a year lottery system with no does unless you qualify for a youth hunt and there's only 25 of those tags.

Elk, Turkey, antelope, bison, javelina, bighorn... All lottery. Fall bear and mountain lion are OTC tags.
